Secondhand car buyers urged to come forward after stolen, hijacked vehicles are found at Edenvale dealership

The buyers of cars from an unregistered secondhand car dealer in Edenvale are urged to come forward after 11 stolen and hijacked vehicles were found at the dealership.

These vehicle owners are urged to take their vehicles to the Edenvale SAPS or the Benoni Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit in Bedford Avenue, Benoni.

“Members of the public who have purchased vehicles from this dealership are urged to come forward as they may be in the possession of a stolen or hijacked vehicle,” said Captain Jean Olckers, Edenvale Police spokesperson.

The dealership at which the cars were found is situated at 78 Andries Pretorius Road, Edenvale and has been trading from the premises since June last year.

“Vehicles most likely to have been stolen or hijacked are Hyundai h100, Volkswagen Polo, Golf, Toyota and Tazz.”

The 11 vehicles were positively identified as stolen or hijacked by the Benoni Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit.

They were found parked at the dealership with purchase prices on display.

The owner, a 45-year-old man, was detained for the possession of stolen and hijacked vehicles.
