WATCH: Residents come out in large numbers to object to proposed lease of sports grounds

Sport clubs concerned about the future of sports in Edenvale.

A large number of Edenvale residents attended today’s public participation meeting at Edenvale Community Centre to Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s proposal to lease Edenvale Sports Grounds to a third party.

The NEWS previously reported that numerous Edenvale sporting bodies stand united against the proposal.

Many of the representatives from the various clubs previously said their greatest concerns were that of access to the sporting grounds and the future of sports in Edenvale.
