LATEST: Residents concerned about flash flooding as rains fall

Residents and motorists driving through Senderwood shared their frustration.

Some Bedfordview residents have expressed concern over the condition of the stormwater drains in Bedfordview.

As the much-needed rain fell this afternoon, residents took to social media and shared photos of flash flooding in their areas.

Residents and motorists driving through Senderwood shared their frustration.

“This road [Civin Drive]  has always been a problem during heavy rain, for years now,” said one resident.

“It nearly had to be a single lane,” posted another resident on the same road.

Ward 20 councillor, Clr Jill Humphreys said she would be forwarding photos of flooded roads to the executive mayor of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM), Clr Mzwandile Masina.
