The dangers of liquor abuse

Alcohol abuse can lead to various social and societal problems.

This is according to the Edenvale SAPS acting communications officer, Warrant Officer Jean Olckers.

Some of the potential alcohol-related problems include:

•  Babies born with foetal alcohol syndrome (FAS).
•  Academic difficulties.
•  Draining of financial resources.
•  Emotional and relationship stress.
•  Increased risk of violent or criminal behaviour.
•  Increased vulnerability to victimisation.
