An exchange of gunfire between the SAPS and armed suspects took place in Klopperpark this evening.
Details are sketchy at this stage but it is believed the shoot-out took place on Barbara Road.
It is also believed that the three suspects, driving in a black Mercedes Benz, exchanged fire with SAPS members during a chase towards to Croydon area.
A source has told the NEWS that one suspect was shot and killed while a second was injured. A third suspect is believed to have escaped.
One fire arm was recovered in Klopperpark.
The injured suspect has been transported to a nearby provincial hospital.
