#YourStory – Little golfer with big dreams

"My favourite element about golf is the way we hit the ball far," she said.

Little Busi Nkosi has big dreams of becoming a professional golfer some day.

She is six years old and lives in Duduza. She has been playing golf for just over a year.

She attended the SA BMW Open Golf Championship at the Glendower Golf Club, where she was introduced to professional players and had the opportunity to be part of the developmental clinic where a professional golfer helped her with her technique.

She showed great excitement to be at the finale on January 9.

Busi stood at the fences of the course to watch how the players drive the balls into the holes. She said golf is a calming sport and for this reason, she wants to work hard to be the best.

“My favourite element about golf is the way we hit the ball far,” she said.

When the NEWS asked Busi why she picked golf, she replied with a giggle, “I want to be a successful female golfer in a few years, coming from a township.”

Her family supports her dream and shared in the excitement at the golf course.
