Hewitt restricted to his house until June

The former tennis champion was sentenced in the North Gauteng High Court yesterday to six years imprisonment.

Bob Hewitt, sentenced to six years imprisonment yesterday, will be restricted to his house in Addo in the Eastern Cape until his next court appearance on June 19.

It was reported earlier today, Hewitt’s leave to appeal his conviction application has been postponed to June 19.

In March, Hewitt was found guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault.

The former tennis champion was sentenced in the North Gauteng High Court.

 

Last month sentencing proceedings were postponed to allow Hewitt’s legal team to obtain a psychological report for mitigating arguments.
