The Edenvale SAPS has joined forces with local security companies for a special operation which focuses on clearing all possible escape routes.
The acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, said last week the operation was aimed at a number of fields in the area.
“We specifically targeted fields around the Marais Steyn Park area. We demolished a number of illegal structures which we have reason to believe were used by criminals when fleeing after committing crimes,” said Lt Col Roberts.
He added that similar operations will continue to take place.
“Crime prevention is an important part of fighting crime in Edenvale. By conducting these operations, we are making ourselves visible in the community as cementing a good working relationships with numerous security providers in the area,” said Lt Col Roberts.
