Residents flock to charity hat walk
The event co-ordinator, Ms Joanne Kavanagh, said the event gets better and bigger each year and this year R700 000 was raised through the support of Balwin, suppliers and the community who supported the event.
The Balwin Properties Charity Hat Walk was hosted in conjunction with Jeppe Athletics.
This year was the 12th year the event has been hosted and the 10th year that Balwin Properties has come on board as a major sponsor.

The charities that were supported this year included the Theo Jackson Foundation (an education foundation at Jeppe High School for Boys), The Kidney Beanz Foundation, The Pink Drive, Lambano Sanctuary, Puppy and Kitty Haven and the Bedfordview Community Policing Forum.
With over 2 000 people and about 200 dogs attending the event, the community of Edenvale and Bedfordview enjoyed a wonderful day out with lots of Christmas spirit.
