Willow Park finally fenced off
Council recently completed the construction of a concrete fence to separate Willow Park from the side verges of the N3 highway.
For three years residents and ward councillors have fought to have Willow Park fenced off from the highway.
Over years, criminals committing crimes on Linksfield Road Bridge and the neighbouring suburbs have used Willow Park as an easy escape route.
Ward 19 councillor, Clr Bill Rundle, last week expressed his delight that the fence had been completed.
He hoped it would give residents greater peace of mind and would also encourage more community members to again visit Willow Park.
Mr Wolfgang Poulig, head of security for Dowerglen Extension 3, said he was also pleased that the fence had finally been completed.
