King B Avenue: rising Amapiano star from eKasi

King B Avenue is set to revolutionise the music scene in Alex by transitioning from deep house to Amapiano.

A young musician from Alexandra, Kabelo Sekhoto, known as King B Avenue in the music industry, used to specialise in the deep house genre. Still, he has now tapped into amapiano and is a developing force looking to rock the local music industry.

King B’s musical journey began in May 2019, and he was deeply influenced by his father, Baile Paul Sekhoto, an experienced DJ who loves deep house music.

“My father was my greatest inspiration, he taught me the art of mixing and instilled a deep appreciation for music in me,” he said.

He has released eight singles and one album, including hit tracks Emphatic, Innercore, Kumnandi La (Instrumental Version), Gucci Game, and WeHustle. His early work with Emphatic Records helped him hone his craft and gain recognition in the industry.

King B made a significant career shift by leaving Emphatic Records in May 2023, and founded his label, Avenue Sounds Entertainment, in August of the same year.

This move reflects his determination to shape his destiny and support upcoming artists in his community. “Starting Avenue Sounds was a dream come true. I wanted to create a platform for myself and other talented musicians to grow and collaborate,” he said.

Describing himself as a passionate musician dedicated to his craft, King B finds joy in both performing live and creating music in the studio. “Music is my life and I want to share my journey with as many people as I can. Each note and melody tells a story, and I’m here to express mine,” King B said.
