Lutchor Ispoko blossoms in Amapiano

Nkosinathi Nyiba, who goes by the stage name of ‘Lutchor Ispoko’, hopes to strike collaborations with African musicians and those the world over.

Nkosinathi Nyiba’s musical talent has blossomed since the days of a teasing session by schoolmates who did not take his musical ambitions seriously.

‘Lutchor Ispoko’, as Nyiba is popularly known to his avid music fans, is now spooking his former classmates as his popularity in the music industry continues to reach new heights.

Soweto-born Nyiba (22) grew up in Alex but later moved to the Amajazana settlement outside of Orange Farm to join his mother along with his younger brother, Sifiso.

Soon after completing his matric at Sakhisizwe Secondary School in 2020 in Amajazana, the brothers moved back to Alex in 2022 to re-join their father and his music career then took a twist for the better, especially after he teamed up with other Alex musicians in a collaboration for the production of Amagomora album which raised his music stakes.

Lutchor Ispoko launched his music career while in Grade 8 when he released his first hip-hop track after which he moved to the genre of Amapiano. Speaking about his move to Amapiano, Nyiba said it was due to a desire not to box himself in one music genre.

Nkosinathi Nyiba, popularly known as Lutchor Ispoko in music circles, has high hopes for his musical career.

“I was challenged by schoolmates to produce the lyrics to a song titled, ‘I will remember you guys’ and I passed the challenge with flying colours. The song was my way of expressing appreciation of their company in our school years and that I will always remember them when I finally reach the musical stardom,” Nyiba said.

Nyiba, a second-year Bachelor of Electrical Engineering student at the Central Johannesburg College Alexandra Campus which is a three-year course, along with his brother who is doing his first year in automotive engineering, has released several singles since his school days.

Lutchor Ispoko dreams of collaborations with other music artists in Africa and the world. I have so far worked with artists in Alex, Pretoria, and Cape Town and hope to strike a relationship with fellow African musicians and others in other parts of the world.
