Aerobics and other exercise and lifestyle forms are taking root in Alexandra as proven by the growing attendance in one of the sessions held recently at Ko Dlozi Carwash at 61 – 18th Avenue.
“We had a great time with our aerobics and #CancerAwareness with a full house of enthusiastic and lively eventgoers,” said organiser Sibongile Tshabalala of Sbosh and Bongz Alex Biokinetics.
Tshabalala expressed her gratitude to Ward 116 Councillor Adolph Marema in whose ward the event was organised and to the Ko Dlozi Carwash for allowing them to use their venue, Eric Ma Er from Tsutsumani, Sister Refiloe from Thoko Mngoma Clinic, The crew from FFF at Peterson Park in Norwood, Freedom supermarket, Zinhle Khanyile and crew from Alex FM, Siphokazi Dlamini, a cancer survivor who shared her amazing survival story with the community of Alex and Razo, the aerobics coach and all those who woke up including the little ones who came out in numbers to participate in the aerobics sessions.
“Our Alex Biokinetics aerobics events are getting bigger and better with time and better and the numbers are growing. I hope that next year we can fill up the Altrek Sports Facility or the KwaBhekilanga Sports Ground,” she said.
She said her intention was to invite other townships such as Soweto, Thembisa, Mamelodi and Soshanguve in Pretoria. “By so doing, we want to promote a healthy lifestyle to all the people in Gauteng province,” Tshabalala added.
Tshabalala said she hopes to the last event of the year at the Thoko Mngoma Clinic on December 1 as part of the World Aids Day awareness programme.
