Tshepiso Malatji is Queen of Alex teens

Black Rose Academy CEO Marks Bernards says the pageants help keep the youth off the streets and away from mischief.

The Queen of the Miss Alexandra Teen 2023 was crowned at an event held on 11-November 11 at the East Bank Hall in the East Bank section of the township.

According to pageant organiser Marks Bernards, CEO of Black Rose Academy, the annual pageant that celebrates and recognises the beauty of teenagers in the township and seeks to put them on the map of the entertainment industry, crowned 14-year-old Alexandra High School learner Tshepiso Malatji as the Miss Alexandra Teen 2023 Queen.

Her first princess was Oratilwe Modau (14), a learner at Waverley Girls High School and the second princess was Matlhatsi Maubane (15), also from Waverley Girls High School.

A crowd favourite, Sihle Dipholo (14), from East Bank High School, was crowned Miss Popularity 2023 and Bernards said the winners will represent their respective schools in our next pageant, which is Miss Alexandra High Schools 2024 to be held on a date still to be announced.

Bernards thanked those who worked on the pageant, and those members of the community who came out to witness the pageant, and at the same time to support their children.
He also assured the community that his organisation will continue to host these pageants to help keep the youths off the streets and away from mischief and other social ills.
