Haval responds to #safercarsforafrica report

This report raised some serious concerns about the crash safety of a number of HAVAL products. The latter being the Steed 5 bakkie from Great Wall and the Haval H1 five-door SUV.

We at Haval Motor South Africa rank the safety of our clients as paramount, so much so that it is one of our core corporate values. For that reason, we have spent over $650 billion per year on R&D alone,” said Haval.

Haval expressed surprise with these results because they endeavour to always “meet and exceed the standards as required by the National Regulator for Compulsory Standards”.

“It is regrettable that vehicles are tested that have been in production for quite some time and are fitted with basic passive and active safety aids due to them being of a lower specification in this area to obviously assist in bringing the overall price of the vehicle down making it more accessible than vehicles with all the safety aids.”

Haval refers to testimonies from many happy customers – often hailing the safety of their cars after they have been involved in an accident.

Haval confirmed its commitment to working with local authorities and the AA to improve road and vehicle safety and stated that they “look forward to further testing on the latest range of our GWM P Series bakkie and Haval SUVs”. “

These will certainly change opinions and stereo types about Chinese manufactured vehicles,” they concluded.
