Registration for the prestigious Miss Alex Gomora 2020 and Miss Alex Teen 2020 beauty pageant to be held later this year is now open to the youth.
This year’s glamorous beauty pageant event will be held on 5 September for Miss Alexandra Teen and 3 October Miss Alexandra Gomora.
CEO and founder of Black Rose Academy, Marks Bernards said the annual event is aimed at empowering, inspiring hope and inculcating confidence to young people in Alexandra. “This project was created to uplift, inspire hope and help young people of Alexandra realise their dreams. When we start this journey in 2012 we wanted to bring change through modelling to inspire and create hope and motivate the youth. Winners will be required to take part in our development projects which are meant to prune their skills.”
Participants must meet certain requirements to take part. Miss Alexandra Teen 2020 the candidate must be between the ages of 13 to 19 with a matric certificate or tertiary qualification and Miss Alex Gomora candidates must be between the ages of 20 and 28 and possess public speaking skills. All participants must reside within the parameters of Alexandra Township and have confidence traits with positive and be willing to do projects which winner will be tasked with.
