BMW continues its M4 heritage edition
Limited to only 750 units, the German automaker will be producing M4 coupes in heritage edition guise with exclusive exterior and interior additions.
Destined to be launched at Nürburgring during forthcoming races of the DTM series from 13 to 15 September, the heritage edition models pays homage to BMW’s rich history in motorsport and will only be available in Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet blue metallic and Imola red to match the infamous M logo which was first seen on a BMW 3.0 CSL in 1972. In addition, the German automaker has added a decorative strip which in integrated into the CFRP composite to the carbon-fibre reinforced plastic roof. Another unique addition to the exterior comes in the form of forged 20-inch light-alloy wheels featuring Orbit grey matt paint and fitted with mixed tyres.
The interior also got some unique additions; it comes fitted with model-specific full leather M seats in a bicolour design with each seat finished in Silverstone black and a centrepiece to match the exterior paint while the stitching is done in turquoise, Velvet blue or orange. Should you opt for the Imola red exterior paint, the red and black seats receive yellow and red contrast stitching. This theme is carried throughout the cabin interior carbon trim strips with the colours incorporated into the CFRP structures. Added to the trim strips and door sills are “Edition ///M Heritage” and “1/750” emblems and imprints.
Although the heritage edition is built on the M4 Coupe platforms, it produces the same 331 kW you get in the BMW M4 Competition from a straight six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The heritage model limited to 750 units, will be produced and sold from November 2019 to April 2020 with 10 of those units destined for South Africa.
