Local music artist promises music lovers best dance song later this year

ALEXANDRA– I grew up playing soccer like every young boy in the township and I was pretty good in it.

Growing up in a musical family in Alexandra, on 12th Avenue, did not only inspire a 23-year-old upcoming music artist and event organiser Lebogang ‘Luke’ Nkwane to join the most competitive industry but it also unleashed his talent of writing songs.

Nkwane said growing up in the streets of Alexandra, where almost every young boy aspire to be a soccer star when they grow up, developed his love for sports and he excelled as a player. He said the love for soccer, however, faded when his schoolmate introduced him to music.

“I grew up playing soccer like every young boy in the township and I was pretty good at it. But as time went by, I developed a love for music and I was inspired by my uncle who was a member of a local music group called DBLA.

“One of my schoolmates introduced me to hip-hop music one day and from there, I never looked back. I got involved in music and started writing songs that gave birth to my first extended play (EP) titled, Can’t stop, Won’t stop, with eight songs which I released in 2016 with the help of my producer Themba ‘Twist’ Hadebe.

“The EP received a warm reception from music lovers and encouraged me to work harder.”

Nkwane, who described his music as urban kwaito that relates to every music lover, added, “I am currently working on a hit single titled, Starring that will be released in September this year with a music video. This will be best song in 2019 and listeners will love it.”

Nkwane’s music is available on all digital music platforms and can be contacted on 061 402 7268 for bookings.
