The title of the master mixer of the Tequila Patron 2018 Perfectionist championships held in Braamfontein went to Durban lad Bruce Dorfling.
He beat five other finalists to bag the title which included well-known names in the trade such as Aidan Powrie from Cape Town, Alex da Fonseca from Johannesburg, Cape Town’s Cassandra Eichhoff, another Johannesburger Justin Bester and Soweto lad but now resident in Cape Town, Peter Lebese.
Dorfling’s winning drink that won him the master mixer 2018 Perfectionist is known as Harmony and consists of ingredients such as dried marigold infused Patron Anejo, lemon juice, pineapple juice, Italicus, Galliano L’Aperitivo, vanilla syrup and whey.
The inaugural competition was held in South Africa in 2015 with 18 countries worldwide taking part and that number has risen to 19 now, with the United States being the latest entrant.
Dorfling’s winning recipe will compete against other master mixers from around the world on a date still to be announced.
