Mr and Miss Spring 2018

ALEXANDRA– Ntokozo Nkosi who was crowned Miss Spring 2018 want to help her peers gain self-confidence.

Ntokozo Nkosi (14) and Oarabile Ngokane (18) were crowned Queen and King in the Miss and Mr Spring 2018 hosted by Khanya Mtomusha Youth Development Agency at Altrec Sports Complex.

The agency was founded last year by 30-year-old Ratang Phuswana who saw a need to help local youngsters identify their skills and talents at a young age.

The agency holds a pageant every year for those who want to become professional models.

“In our organisation, we work with more than fifty young people from Alexandra who want to pursue careers in acting, modelling and in the music industry,” said Phuswana.

“We help them to nurture and polish their talents. We also help them apply for bursaries in different organisations that offer bursaries to academically deserving students.”

Ntokozo who is in Grade 8 at KwaBhekilanga High School said although she wanted to study law when she finished matric, she wanted to use modelling as a tool to inspire other young girls who don’t believe in themselves.

“Modelling helped me to gain self-confidence and be able to change the way I used to look at myself,” she said.

“I want to be a role model to my peers that all things are possible if you believe in yourself.”

Keithy Hukwae (15) and Precious Malaka (15) were crowned first and the second princesses while Jack Bhelandile (18) and Banele Tau (15) were crowned first and second princes.
