It’s Peter Pan time

JOBURG - Peter Pan takes over the National Children's Theatre.

 

Treat your family this Easter holiday to a magical performance of Underneath a Magical Moon at the National Children’s Theatre. The play was written by leading playwright Mike Kenny and tells the story of Wendy Darling recounting her adventures with Peter Pan.

The production has been made possible by part of a grant from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC), according to the statement issued by the theatre.

“As the play opens, Wendy and her brothers are having a sleep out on the lawn,” read the statement.

“She gazes up at the night sky, dreaming of blue lagoons, magical moons and the incredible adventures she has had. But tonight, like no other has magic in the air, anything can happen. Imagine flying with Wendy and friends to Neverland where a life-changing adventure awaits, where time stands still, and the impossible may become possible. And if you close your eyes and believe – you can make things happen.”

The talented versatile cast includes Daniel Keith Geddes, Nirvana Nokwe, Daniel Meaker and Refilwe Moletsane, with original music, creative sets and vibrant costumes, brings to life the magical events that reveal why the Peter Pan story remains a classic, a favourite with both adults and children.

The creative team includes resident director Francois Theron, costume and set design by Sarah Roberts with Cathrine Hopkins as music director and choreographer, Tandi Meikle along with lighting design by Jane Gosnell.

After every performance, the audience has the opportunity to meet the cast and have their photos taken.

Tickets for chairs are available on R120 and tickets for cushions are sold at R100 and those for pensioners cost R100 as well.

The play is expected to run until 15 April in Parktown.
