Miss Gauteng Exclusive to be crowned

JOHANNESBURG – Twenty young women have their sights set on the title of Miss Gauteng Exclusive.

After months of auditioning and preparation, the number of Miss Gauteng Exclusive 2017 hopefuls have been cut down from hundreds of entries to 20.

The top 20 finalists were voted for by the public.

The finalists will compete at the glamorous final on 25 November at the Station in Newtown, where the judges will decide who takes the crown.

“The winner of Miss Gauteng Exclusive 2017 will take home prizes worth over R150 000 and will be nominated as a brand ambassador for Newtown Junction Mall,” said Ozious Notoane, co-founder of the event.

“Prizes include a night at City Lodge Hotel Newtown, a beauty course worth R6 000 at the Pyramid Day Spa, a three-month marketing course from PTC, a weekend away at Ushaka Marine World in Durban, R20 000 cash and a one-year gym contract.”

Pageant participants have been devoting themselves to making a positive impact in their community while setting out to achieve their own goals. The finalists have been very vocal on the issues of women abuse, environmental affairs and education programmes.

“Winning a crown as Miss Gauteng doesn’t mean one is more beautiful than the others,” said event manager Annwen Jordan. “Contestants will be judged on their levels of self-confidence, how they present themselves, how they interact with the judges and the audience, rather than on how they look.”

The finalists will showcase their public speaking skills, achievements, community service and talents, all while being judged in front of a large audience.

“When you see these ladies go out on stage you see courage and self-esteem,” said Kagiso Selele, co-founder of the pageant.

“I see it as a celebration of women breaking boundaries with self-confidence. To me, that is the real beauty behind the pageant, and we would like to thank all our sponsors and associates that believed in our vision.”
