Litty Street party adds CRKLYN on the line-up for the upcoming party

JOBURG – People need to come and support because Fourie be playing some of the latest and greatest deep house and tech house tracks from both local and international artists while incorporating the newest genre to hit the music scene – Brazillian Bass house.

 

This year’s Litty Street Party promises to be one for the record books. The party boasts an impressive line-up of young, talented individuals who will sure keep the partygoers dancing.

One of those talented spinners is Midrand resident, Brandon Fourie, aka CRKLYN. At just 20 years old, he’s been able to capture the attention of many party people and DJs.

Fourie’s passion for music was born in Grade 9 when he started playing around with the popular DJ software, Virtual DJ. He said he would spend hours every day recording mashups and remixing popular songs then play them for his friends and family. The positive response he received started a fire within to keep going.

“As the years went on, my parents saw my passion for the world of DJing and music, both of which I had merely scratched the surface. My parents took it upon themselves to help me invest in my first pair of Pioneer CDJs and mixer. From then on I attended Lindi Lush’s DJ school where they taught me all the fundamentals of DJing and ever since I’ve been cultivating my own DJ identity.”

Currently in his second year at the University of Pretoria (Tuks) studying a B.Com law degree. Fourie said that even with the strenuous law degree, he still manages to make time for events in both Johannesburg and Pretoria.

“For now, I first see myself completing my studies and keeping my current pace with DJing and the world of music. However, after my studies, I see no reason as to why people should not be on the lookout for Crooklyn [CRKLYN] as I take a more serious approach to a potential career from DJing and music production.”

At the Litty Street party, Fourie has prepared a very special set featuring some of the latest and greatest deep house and tech house tracks that he will play on the deep/tech house stage.

“People need to come and support because I will be playing some of the latest and greatest deep house and tech house tracks from both local and international artists, while incorporating the newest genre to hit the music scene – Brazillian bass house.”

This style of music, he said, is “one of my ultimate favourite genres right now that expose people to a greater variety of music known for really getting a party going, while showcasing my abilities as a DJ to keep the crowd excited and constantly on their feet until the last beat drops.”
