Culinary engines to rev at Kyalami

JOANNESBURG - All roads will lead to Kyalami on 8 and 9 October for the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival.

The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit will be abuzz with the sounds of culinary engines that will rev high at DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival over two days in October.

Presented by Nedbank, the fourth edition of the annual festival will also include an international musical line-up including the likes of the Jacksons, without their late brother, Michael, and this is set to be one of the highlights of this year’s show on 8 and 9 October.

This taste bud tantalising food and music festival is considered by organisers to be by far the biggest and most popular of its kind in South Africa, with an estimated 40 000 people expected to attend the two-day festival, which has been extended due to overwhelming public support.

It also considered to be the largest non-motoring event of its kind scheduled to take place at Kyalami this year, and Nedbank’s Thulani Sibeko said at the launch at MultiChoice City in Randburg that he can’t wait for October.

Festival director, Lloyd Cornwell said, “The prime location, international recognition, world-class facilities, along with its nine entry and exit points make the newly-revamped Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit the ideal venue for this prestigious festival that fuses flavoursome and fashion foods with eclectic entertainment that pleases both customary and contemporary tastes.

“We take our patrons’ feedback very seriously which is why we decided to move the event to October to take advantage of the warmer weather and longer days. We believe that the time of year combined with the centrally located and iconic venue will attract even more enthusiasts looking for a gastronomical feast blended with a world-class entertainment line-up.”

“We are delighted to host this important lifestyle event at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit,” was what circuit general manager, Denis Klopper said at the launch.

Alexandra Mayne, head of banqueting and marketing at the circuit added, “Such a significant event showcases the exciting opportunities offered by the Kyalami facility to both organisers and visitors looking for top level events.”

The festival is brought to the public by Massive Management in association with Makro, Castle Milk Stout, Kaya FM, Independent Newspapers, Ticketpro, Jeep and Generosity Water.
