RapidLion Film Festival

The inaugural South African International Film Festival, also known as RapidLion, will end on 19 March. It is the first South African film festival to concentrate almost exclusively on African cinema. The festival is currently taking place at The Market Theatre – the heart of a precinct thriving with artistic expression. It is in many ways the city’s centre for the creative arts.

Dance Umbrella

A festival of new contemporary choreography and dance featuring local and international choreographers. The dance festival is the main platform for new contemporary work in southern Africa. It embodies 28 years of evolving dance styles and genres. A number of individuals and groups across the globe use this platform to present new and innovative dance works.

Body Worlds Vital

Body Worlds Vital is an all new, unique exhibition celebrating the wonder, resilience and fragility of the human body. Visitors will get a detailed look at the human body and its keenly intelligent design, explore how it functions and see what happens when disease strikes. This internationally acclaimed exhibition runs at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown, Johannesburg until 1 June.
