Gogglebox comes to SA
JOBURG - The media were invited to an exclusive screening in South Africa of the television series Gogglebox at Montecasino.
Gogglebox South Africa, which premiered on the Sony Channel (channel 127) on DStv on 3 March, is based on the award-winning United Kingdom show. It observes some of the country’s most opinionated and avid TV viewers as they comment freely on the best and worst television shows (international and local) from the comfort of their own couches.
Producer of the show, Gary King said, “We are excited to see what South Africans really think of the television programmes they watch and those who appear on the box, be it celebrities or politicians.”
The show captured the imagination of households around the world when it first launched and now Gogglebox South Africa can be viewed on the Sony Channel every Thursday.
