Rnb legend joins BET Experience

JOBURG - The BET Experience just keeps getting better, especially with the announcement of the latest performer to join the festival.

One of the performers at the BET Experience Africa, Tamar Braxton, may not make the event due to health issues, but the company would not allow disappointment to fill the hearts of festival-goers and so it was announced that rhythm and blues legend, Mary J. Blige, would join the star-studded line-up.

Yes, it is official that multi-Grammy award winning superstar Mary J. Blige is set to join Raphael Saadiq and Maxwell to raise the roof with a trademark heartfelt performance at the BET Experience Africa on 12 December. The legend last performed in South Africa in 2007 and will make her way back to the rainbow nation for the first time since then.

The line-up of performing artists now includes Mary J. Blige, Raphael Saadiq, Maxwell, AKA, Diamond Platnumz, Flavour, Young Thug and possibly Tamar Braxton – and those celebrities don’t even form half of the list of all the big-name stars who will be in attendance at the experience.

There will be a number of activities to watch and take part in on the day including a celebrity basketball game, Hunting for Kicks sneaker exhibition, fashion exhibitions, Genius Talks with Minister of Sports and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula, among others and a tyre-burning show of the best motoring antics in the country.

With all of this on offer, it’s not surprising that tickets range from R550 to R1 500, with students being eligible for a 10 percent discount on their ticket price.

All the action-packed fun takes place on 12 December at the TicketPro Dome.
