ROSEBANK – The first official screening of Trevor Noah hosting the American spoof news programme, The Daily Show, took place at Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank Mall amid a flurry of photographers and celebrities.

Presented by Comedy Central Africa on 29 September, the screening took place just a few hours after it premiered in the United States.
Some of the local celebrities who attended the screening and showed support for Noah included Lunga Tshabalala, Maps Maponyane, Nicholas Goliath, Batsetsana Khumalo and musician Bucie.
It was said that the much-loved South African comedian ‘nailed it’ when it came to hosting the show for the first time, coming across as confident, charming and, of course, hilarious, with punchy one-liners which had the audience in stitches.
Cupcakes were adorned with Trevor Noah’s face at the official screening of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, of which Noah is now the host.
