WATCH: Miss Gauteng and Miss Johannesburg pageant dazzle Alex

The annual pageant of Miss Gauteng and Miss Johannesburg 2015 saw 25 dazzling contestants dressed in gorgeous wear grace the East Bank Hall in Alexandra.

This was the third edition of the pageant and the second time it has been hosted in Alexandra. The guest judges for the day were Sindile Madlingozi, daughter of South African music sensation Ringo Madlingozi, and Frank Mabaso also known as DJ Tribe Franko.

Masechaba Kobola from Tembisa was crowned as the queen of Gauteng in front of an enthusiastic audience. Miss Johannesburg went to Lilitha Sokawukile who is also the current Miss Alexandra Teen. The winners walked away with vouchers, certificates, a trip to Durban and a one-year contract with Black Rose Academy, a modelling agency in Alexandra.

The two will represent Gauteng at the Miss Province pageant to be held in KwaZulu-Natal later in the year. Marks Bernards, CEO of Black Rose Academy and the pageant founder, was delighted with how proceedings went.

“We hope and believe that such events build confidence and create more opportunities for everyone,” he said.

“We also would like thank the community of Alexandra for being the best supporters in every event we host.”
