Sacred Heart’s soccer wizard

ALEXANDRA -– Sacred Heart College boy steals the hearts of Alex football fans at the Map Games 2018.

 

A Sacred Heart College schoolboy was the darling of the fans at the Map Games 2018 when he stole their hearts with his ball skills and dribbling wizardry.

Spectators at the Number 3 Square Grounds roared with applause each time Tiam Fady Tarawneh had the ball at his feet as he mesmerised them and left them cheering for more.

“He’s a rare diamond and an exciting player that is a marvel to watch. I just wish every time he plays, the ball can just be at his feet for the entire 90 minutes,” said one spectator who did not give their name.

Tiam was part of the Map Games U15 championship winning team of Alex Royal Tigers SC which beat Alexandra Gunners 3–2 to lift the trophy which they have successfully defended.

All three of Tigers goals came from the boot of Sikelela ‘Messi’ Ngugudo, one in the first half and two in the second. Sikelela is another of the exciting players in the star-studded team who goes to Pholosho Junior Secondary School in Alexandra.

One of Sikelela’s goals came from an assist from Tiam who immediately made an impact after starting the game on the bench and came on with his side leading 2–1.

Another exciting youngster is the diminutive Katlego ‘Fistos’ Machaba who along with Sikelela and Tiam got the crowds off their seats.

The two consolation goals from the Gunners, scored in the second half, came through the boots of Thapelo Rikhotso and Asanda Wezinsizwa.
