In partnership with Mkhwane SS Biokineticist, the event promises to be an unparalleled opportunity for Run Alex members to prioritise their health, fitness and performance.

Run Alex Athletics Club head of events Summer Shongwe said, “With this event, we want to empower our runners to take care of themselves and improve their running pace.

“Most of the runners were competing in a Comrades Marathon and some of them got injured so now this is an opportunity for them to get checked by the professionals.

“The Wellness Day will kick off with a health and fitness evaluation, where participants will have the chance to assess their current health status, fitness levels, and any pre-existing injuries.

“This will be followed by a movement screening session, where experts will evaluate gait, posture and running mechanics to identify any imbalances or areas for improvement,” Shongwe said.

Shongwe said the day will also feature workshops and educational sessions on improving running technique, effective recovery methods and nutrition strategies.

“The expert-led sessions will provide runners with the knowledge and tools to take their training to the next level. After the Wellness Day, we hope runners will see the value of caring for themselves and avoiding injuries when running,” Shongwe added.
