Destiny favours the Young Master of Alexandra

Destiny seems to favour Vincent ‘Young Master’ Rammoni as the Alex coach continues with his Midas touch of being a giant killer and trailblazer.

Former Dondol Stars’ Alex coach Vincent ‘Young Master’ Rammoni has won the championship of a Top 4 tournament of teams in the ABC Motsepe League with his new side, Destiny College FC of Mpumalanga.

The Top 4 championship, organised by Alex outfit JBM FC that plies its trade in the ABC Motsepe League, comprised four teams – JBM and Thelray United from Mamelodi both from Gauteng; Destiny College from Mpumalanga and Lerumo Lions from North West – and was played at the Alexandra Stadium on August 26.

Rammoni’s first was against the Lerumo outfit and Destiny won it 1–0 from a strike by Reabetswe ‘Robinho’ Lakota. The second game was in the final against Thelray and Destiny won it 3–0. The goal scorers were Esihle ‘Scara’ Maniyo, Xolani ‘Ganda’ Ndwandwe and Menzi Dlongolo hammering the final nail in the coffin of Thelray.

The Young Master said the games were part of all the teams’ preparations for the new 2023/24 season of the ABC Motsepe League, which is on the horizon. The Alex coach, who made history with Dondol Stars as a giant killer after scalping DStv Premiership sides SuperSport United and AmaZulu and taking Orlando Pirates down to the wire in the Nedbank Cup earlier in the year, was buoyed by the Top 4 win.

“We have played other friendlies as well at our Mpumalanga base and we won them. Hence, I can safely say that our preparations seem to be going according to plan and we can’t wait for the league opening,” Rammoni said.

Rammoni recently roped in another upcoming Alex coach, Wiseman Nkabini, formerly with Amajananda FC, to help him in the tall-order mission to take Destiny to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the 2024/25 season.
