Realogile squeeze past Eastbank as Minerva humiliates KwaBhekilanga

ALEXANDRA – Realogile and Minerva Secondary Schools are off to the finals of the SCZ School Tournament.

Minerva Secondary School crushed KwaBhekilanga Secondary 3–0, while Eastbank High School suffered a gut-wrenching 2–1 defeat to Realogile High in the semi-finals of the Sibusiso Cosmos Zwane School Tournament on September 23 at Three Square Sports Ground in Alexandra.

Minerva cruised into the final with a dominant display against Eastbank as they created more goal chances in the first half with Katlego Mampa producing a brilliant free kick to score the opener shortly before half-time.

As a result of a silly mistake at the back by Mthembeni Maibuyanga of KwaBhekilanga, Ishmael Dartey doubled Minerva’s lead 10 minutes into the second half.

KwaBhekilanga’s keeper denied penalty taker, Sibusiso Mgijima and the rebound fell to Mampa whose shot hit the crossbar.

However, Mampa completed his brace when he headed the final nail into KwaBhekilanga’s coffin from an in-swinger cross from Hlophe.
