Farewell to Rangers and go make the Alex LFA proud, says Masisi

ALEXANDRA -– Rangers coach David Horwitz says they look forward to their new challenge.

Vice-president of Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association (LFA) Venita Masisi has expressed her well wishes for Rangers FC as they embark on a new chapter of their football journey.

Speaking in an interview with Alex News soon after the medal award ceremony at the completion of the Alex Northrand LFA Promotional League, Masisi said Rangers may be leaving the LFA as they climbed up the rungs of football on their journey to the ultimate league, the Premier Soccer League ‘but they will remain our baby regardless’.

“We say farewell to Rangers and wish you all the best as you embark on this new and arduous journey to the ultimate in Mzansi football, which is the premiership, but also want to urge you to go all the way and make us proud as the LFA that made you.

“You will remain our baby even in the SAB League and if there is anything in our power that we can help you with, don’t hesitate to call on us,” Masisi said.

Masisi, who also runs her own club, Norwood Young Stars FC which has both girls and boys teams, expressed her delight that the competition was concluded without any hick-ups except for the limited stadia which also had to host 20 teams in the Promotional League, and some from the SAB League, the Sasol Women’s League and the LFA’s own divisional leagues.

“We managed to do this without incident, not even from the Covid-19 whose infection numbers are rising alarmingly.”

Rangers coach David Horwitz who coached the successful Maccabi FC in the National First Division before they were bought by Swallows FC, said he was proud of Rangers, both the players, management and technical staff for the feat of achieving promotion. “We look forward to the new challenge,” the coach added.
