Highlands Park ready for new season and Portugal

LINKSFIELD – Highlands Park FC aims to do even better in the local leagues and send a team to Portugal this season.


Highlands Park Football Club‘s junior section will kick off in style this year after a stellar season saw it win three leagues last year.

Registration for the new season will be held at the club’s fields in Linksfield from 9am to 12.30pm on 19 January.

But if you miss this, feel free to contact the club to find out about joining.

“We won three leagues and came in the top three for most of the other divisions,” said club coordinator Debbie Ilouze.

“The club has grown enormously over the years. Our coaches are now of top quality and we are hoping to do even better this season.”

She added that Highlands Park FC Juniors was family-oriented and all about the development of young soccer players.

The club won the U9 division in the Easterns League and the U12 and U13 divisions in the Development Soccer League, where it plays under the Northrand Local Football Association.

The club plans to take a U11 team overseas in June this year to the Iber Cup in Portugal for the first time.

The club will continue to play in the league and cup games home and away, including in the Shabbas division which does not have matches on the Sabbath.

“We want to send a team to the Iber Cup every year from now on to give the children a great experience playing soccer overseas. We up our game every year and are always growing in numbers and development.”
