“Our ambassadors at Hollywood Bets, Jerry Sikhosana and Brian Baloyi were given a task to identify three schools from their respective townships to participate in the tournament. Our aim is to invest and develop soccer in different townships. The tournament has been a great success and we have established a good working relationship with the schools and their communities,” said Dorkin.

Former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana striker Sikhosana told participants that it was school football that had led him and Baloyi to success as soccer players and urged parents to encourage their children to participate in sports.

“We knew each other while we were playing for our schools in tournaments like this and that’s where our friendship started before Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Though we were doing well in sports we didn’t neglect our books, we continued with school until we finished. It’s not every learner that will make it in sports and not every learner will make it academically, that is why we urge parents to support their children in everything they do,” Sikhosana said.
