Alex Wolves U19 head coach Andile Kahle, who made only two substitutions in the match to give other players an opportunity, said, “I’m very pleased with our boys’ performance today.

“They showed strength and character despite some training challenges we had during the week with some of them having to attend to their school classes. We will work on our fitness and some technical issues to prepare ourselves for the semis.”

Kahle said they were prepared to take on any opponent in the semi-finals and go through to the finals to defend their title. “Today we managed to get eight tries and missed only one conversion. We will work on improving our defence so that we don’t commit errors that will end up costing us points.”
