Joburg East District schools urged to enter Twizza Super School Athletics Series

JOBURG – Schools around Johannesburg have been urged to enter the Twizza Super School Series.

Entries have opened for the newly launched Twizza Super School Athletics Series regional competitions that will mine the future diamonds of the track and field.

Schools in the Johannesburg East District of the Gauteng Department of Education, which includes areas such as Alexandra, Highlands North, Balfour, Kew, Orange Grove, Observatory, Norwood, Glenhazel and other suburbs, have been urged to register for the competition.

The series is sponsored by Twizza, South Africa’s first official ‘Proudly South African’ carbonated soft drink, which has extended its athletics portfolio with the introduction of the new Twizza Super School Series, after signing a three year title sponsorship deal with Athletics South Africa for the U18 and U20 Track and Field Championships.

“Athletics is a major sport in South African schools and boasts immense talent at both the junior and senior level,” said Ajee Valentine, Twizza national sponsorship manager.

“The youth and junior championships was the perfect introduction to the sport of athletics.

“We tasted something great and we want more. We are excited to further expand our involvement with this exciting sport, at school level, by launching the Twizza Super School Series, which will culminate in a grand finale in February next year,” Valentine said.
