Sage Foundation and local former football star gives back to the community

ALEXANDRA – The retired football star and Sage employees rolled up their sleeves to paint the museum.


The former AmaZulu Football Club player and the founder of Alexandra schools tournament, Sbusiso Zwane, in partnership with Sage Foundation recently visited Alexandra Heritage Centre to lend a helping hand.

The retired footballer and Sage employees rolled up their sleeves to paint the museum with paint donated by the foundation. They also taught local youngsters about the importance of preserving heritage centres in the area.

According to the centre’s educational officer, Percy Ndaba, the facility has its arms open for community members and business community that want to extend a helping hand.

“As a government facility, we work with community and companies in making sure that the centre is in always in good shape. Today we were privileged to be visited by Sage Foundation and our very own retired soccer star Sbusiso ‘Cosmos’ Zwane who donated paint to us.”

“Local heritage centres are repositories for the township history and the youth should take advantage of them to learn about their history.”
