SA soccer legend Doctor Khumalo correctly predicts the score of the Barca-Real derby

JOBURG -– Dignitaries from all walks of life grace the LaLiga El Clasico in Hyde Park.

Specially selected guests were treated to a scintillating game of football between arch-rivals FC Barcelona and Real Madrid known as El Clasico on 28 October at a public viewing at The Park on 7 in Hyde Park.

Vice-president of Safa Rea Ledwaba and Moonira Ramathula look stunned by the Barcelona performance.

The game lived up to its name and reputation – a classic match of the world’s biggest derby in which Barcelona ran riot with a thrilling 5–1 win, which has resulted in the manager of Real, Julen Lopetegui packing his bags following the humiliation.

The ever-controversial Uruguayan Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick for Barca, with one apiece coming from Brazilian Phillippe Coutinho and Arturo Vidal.

The consolation goal for Real came off the boot of another Brazilian, the exciting Marcelo Vieira da Silva.

An ecstatic Barcelona fan in full regalia cannot contain his happiness at the scoreline.

Among the invited guests were UDM’s Bantubonke Holomisa, Safa president Dr Danny Jordaan and his deputy Ria Ledwaba and soccer legend and kingpin of the Team of 1996, Doctor Khumalo, who correctly predicted the final score.

Many African players play in LaLiga but there are no South Africans. LaLiga’s Africa director Antonio Barradas said they were working hard to ensure that quality players from this country would play in the Spanish league.
