Mother of the Nation, as she was popularly known, will be buried in Fourways on 14 April and the whole country will come to a standstill to honour Madikizela-Mandela.
The secretary-general of the association, Mafika Morajane confirmed the cancellation of their weekend fixtures, saying they had received instructions from the football mother body, the South African Football Association (Safa) to do so.
“We decided, for the sake of fairness to all our teams, to cancel all the games for the weekend… so that there are no games in hand for any team or teams,” Morajane told the editor of Alex News, Sipho Siso.
