Believe in our vision and not incentives, urges Bluebirds

ALEXANDRA - Bluebirds Ladies are on the hunt for a new breed of nestlings for the team.

Bluebirds Ladies is in the market for a new breed of players who will buy into the vision of the club as opposed to being lured by incentives on offer.

This is the hope of coach and club founder Malvin Trynos Khumalo, who said players have come and gone from the club simply because some clubs out there were awash with resources and could afford to attract quality players.

“I would like to introduce a totally different set of beliefs in our players,” he said.

“I would like to inculcate in them the project idea of Bluebirds and get them to buy into it rather than keep chasing incentives that are on offer all over.

“That way, maybe we can be assured of keeping and attracting players that are committed to the club and its ideals and not those that are chasing incentives. Let’s all, as club officials and players, build a common vision and sense of belonging that can take this Bluebirds project to the next level.”

Khumalo was speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Alex News as the team prepares for the start of the elite Sasol Women’s League. The South African Football Association is yet to announce the date of the commencement of the 2018 season.

“We need to be able to keep a good core of talented and seasoned players that can mentor the in-coming youngsters by sharing the vision and belief system of the club with them, thereby creating a solid foundation. With or without certain incentives, I believe we can pick up our feet and soldier on for the team.”
