The first-ever Alexandra Marathon and Fun Walk is set to take place at the Altrec Sports Complex on 19 August and is gearing up for action.
One of the founders and organisers of the event, Sakhile Shabangu of the Creative Minds Movement, said the marathon was gearing up for action, with registrations pouring in.
“We would like to thank everyone who has registered thus far for the Alexandra Marathon and Fun Walk 2017 and look forward to seeing you on race day.
“One of our key elements is to introduce new runners to road running hence we continue to encourage both young and old to register for the inaugural marathon of this amazing sporting event in the community of Alexandra,” Shabangu added.
He also said runners were now able to finalise their registrations online via Webtickets by searching for Alexandra Marathon and following the easy steps.
“We’d like to also engage with organisations or community members who would like to contribute towards enhancing the total experience of the event.”
