The school, which plays the second most soccer among 12 other primary schools in Alex, came second in the Discovery Alex Primary Schools League last year, after being beaten in the final by Skeen Primary School.

The eight regional finalists will be joined in the Gauteng provincial finals by Reddam House, the winner of the Johannesburg Primary Schools League – a grouping of private schools which play soccer.

Gauteng will be the last province to host their U12 finals of the tournament which is organised under the banner of the South African Schools Football Association.

Kick-off for the Danone-sponsored tournament is set for 9am and the school that wins the Gauteng finals will join the eight other provincial champions to compete in the national finals on 1 July at the WJ Clement Stadium, Reiger Park.
