Bluebirds player scares teammates after suspected elbowing and concussion

ALEXANDRA – Concussed Natasha Goge is said to be much better and will be recuperating at home following her discharge from Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

Bluebirds’ Natasha Goge is said to be recuperating from home after being rushed to hospital after suffering from a severe concussion from a suspected elbowing by a TUT player.

This was during their Sasol Women’s League match at the Alexandra Stadium on 20 May which ended with a 5-0 walloping of the Beautiful Birds, making it their third loss since the start of the season on 1 April.

Birds’ Natasha Goge is attended by the technical staff of both Birds and TUT before being whisked to hospital by her parents.

The incident happened in the dying minutes of the first half which paved the way for the inclusion of prodigal girl, Zingawe Phakathi.

Birds technical staff, with the help of their TUT counterparts, struggled to keep Goge alert while waiting for an ambulance that had been called but never showed until her parents arrived and rushed her to hospital.

Her coach, Malvin Khumalo, said she was diagnosed with internal bleeding and spent the night at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital but was discharged in the afternoon on 21 May.

Khumalo confirmed that Goge was back home and talking as usual and that she would be recuperating at home in the care of her parents.
