Vincent ‘Young Master’ Rammoni ends brief stint with Gauteng FC

ALEXANDRA – Rammoni said he realised it from the onset that he was not going to last at the helm of Gauteng FC.

Talented Alex coach Vincent ‘Young Master’ Rammoni has returned to his old club Malandela Mighty Heroes after a brief two-match stint at the coaching reins of Gauteng FC.

In his short spell, Rammoni guided the team to a home draw against the mighty Kaizer Chiefs’ SAB League outfit made up mainly of the Premier Soccer League’s Reserve League players of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge, and managed to bring home three points from an away encounter.

Speaking to Alex News, the Young Master, also known as ‘Pep Guardiola’ in Alex football circles, said he realised it from the onset that he was not going to last at the helm of Gauteng FC and decided to ‘drop the ball’ as soon as he could.

“There was too much interference from the chairman [Sihle ‘uMapholoba’ Ngcobo] on the coaching job, not just in terms of who should play even if they have not come to training, but when I could train the team and when I could rest the players,” he said

“I tried to reason with the chairman to say that was a coach’s function and I will decide when I train and when I rest the players. I was told flatly and in no uncertain terms that this is how we do things here at Gauteng FC.”

This, he said, went too far as in one incident he had told his players to congregate on the training ground for a session but when he turned up the players were nowhere to be seen. “When I called the chairman to enquire about the whereabouts of the players, he told me he had ordered them not to show up as ‘we don’t train on that day’.”

He added that this was the last straw that broke the camel’s back and tendered his resignation. Besides interference with his coaching, Rammoni said the club and him also had remuneration disagreements.

When approached for comment, Ngcobo declined, saying he needed to organise a joint press conference with Rammoni which will include the secretary general of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association, Mafika Morajane.
