Young Alex coach harbours big dreams

ALEXANDRA – Up and coming Alex coach dreams big not just for himself but for his charges too.

Vincent Rammoni is a young, successful and ambitious coach who harbours big dreams of one day being a prolific mentor for Bafana Bafana.

Rammoni’s big dreams, however, don’t end there as he sees himself coaching his favourite team one day, Bayern Munich in one of the world’s top leagues, the German Bundesliga.

“I would like to move up the ranks of football, progressing from grassroots football in Alex to something in-between and ultimately then in the prestigious Premier Soccer League,” said the Alex coach who is better known as the ‘Young Master’ of the highly successful Malandela Mighty Heroes Football Club.

The hardworking Rammoni coaches all four divisions of the club, from the U13 players up to the U20 players. If you thought barking instructions to four division teams was more than a mouthful for him, you have seen nothing yet.

Rammoni has recently been appointed to the technical staff of Alexandra United, which plies its trade in the ABC Motsepe League, but with ambitions of moving up the ladder to the Absa Premiership.

Hope City Giants, as Alexandra United are fondly known, has been dreaming of playing premiership football for time immemorial, as they have been in the same league more than 10 years. The rising Rammoni believes his appointment could turn out to be the tonic Alex United has been missing all these years.

Besides Rammoni’s own ambitions of becoming one of the top coaches in this country with export potential, he also has big dreams for his talented boys.

“I would like to see these boys moving from Alexandra to join some of the most established soccer academies, such as those of Ajax Cape Town, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

“That will make me a happy man as well, as we have an abundance of raw talent in this township.”

Rammoni can, however, be proud as some of his boys have started the trek to premiership football.

Tshepiso Kwakwa and Thabo Mazibuko have joined Orlando Pirates U19 and U17 respectively while Sithuli Zulu joined Bidvest Wits U19.

Thabang Mnguni and David Mashabela have been snatched by Kaizer Chiefs U17 side while Katlego ‘Zizo’ Batopela of Realogile High School is on the verge of being snapped up by Wits.
