JOBURG - Talented former University of Pretoria assistant coach, Selaola ‘Sly' Mosala, who led the club's reserve side to victory in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge last season, has joined Polokwane City as a team scout.

Talented former University of Pretoria assistant coach, Selaola ‘Sly’ Mosala has joined Polokwane City as a team scout.

Sly, as he is popularly known in the football fraternity, will also assess and analyse matches for City. Without disclosing the tenure of the contract, City’s media and communications manager, Tumelo Makgoara said Sly was warmly welcomed at the club.

Sly is a qualified South African Football Association graduate with a Level 3 pro-coaching licence. Besides leading the reserve team at AmaTuks to victory in the inaugural MultiChoice Diski Challenge last year, Sly is also credited for his role in helping his former club to gain promotion from the National First Division to the Premier League Division.

Meanwhile, City also announced the departure of their former player, Punch Masenamela, following issues around discipline. It was amicably agreed for both parties to part ways, Makgoara said.

He said the club had opted not to divulge the in-depth reasons behind Masenamela’s departure.

“The club would like to wish him all the best of luck in his career endeavours and thank him for being a part of this brand,” Makgoara said.
