ALEXANDRA - Zingawe Phakathi, one of the most outstanding women footballers to come out of Alexandra, is ducking the media about her soccer career after she demanded to be given her clearance by Bluebirds.

The soccer career of Zingawe Phakathi, one of the most outstanding women footballers to come out of Alexandra, hangs in the balance.

This follows her demand in August last year that she be given her clearance from Bluebirds but who is now ducking the media on questions about her future soccer career. When contacted by Alex News to verify where her future footballing career lay, Zingawe apparently cut the call off.

Despite leaving several messages on her cellphone, she never bothered to return our calls. Alex News also wanted to ask about her future plans regarding her academic career now that she had completed matric at Realogile High School.

Her coach at the Birds, Malvin Khumalo, said he had last spoken to her in July and since then she would not take his calls.

“She has been ducking me ever since,” he said, adding that the club was still willing to negotiate with her.
