It’s all about the bikes

JOBURG - Clarion Events UK have announced the launch of the South Africa Bike Festival, powered by Discovery Channel.

The festival is to be held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 27 May to 29 May next year. Kyalami will open its gates for three days of live music and entertainment, adventure, leisure and all things engine, petrol and motorcycles.

More than 20 000 visitors are expected to have the unique opportunity to experience the brand new Kyalami circuit facilities.

Focusing the event on safe motorbiking, the festival will provide visitors with the chance to experience the benefits of biking in a safe and controlled environment, guided by the experts. From young children through to the retired, attendees will be able to ride and buy motorcycles, and be part of other motorcycle-related pursuits.

Nicole Muller, portfolio director at Clarion Events said, “Our long-term aim in creating this event will be to drive awareness to a potential new target audience each year, and create a sustainable, annual and internationally recognised brand that will bring together the experienced and the young motivators to encourage and grow a new generation of motorcyclists in South Africa and beyond.”

James Gibbons, country manager of Emerging Business at Discovery Networks said, “We are incredibly excited to be partnering with the inaugural South Africa Bike Festival. Turbo is one of the biggest programming genres on [our] channel, so [this] festival presents a great opportunity to reach out to new and existing local viewers who love everything fast and furious.”
